由電視廣播有限公司與邵氏合作的《72家租客》，已於十月廿二日開鏡，並預計於明年的賀歲檔期上映。電影最初開鏡時宣佈由曾志偉與葉念琛聯合執導。不過，實際上導演的名字卻不止前述兩人。
「講。鏟。片」讀者日前便以暱名電郵形式，提供了《72家租客》於十一月十四日夜間於旺角煙廠街一帶拍攝的情況。現場所見，該區的直選立法會議員黃毓民也來捧場一下。
一眾演員與工作人員於百利達廣場對出的位置，為拍攝作事前準備。
當晚拍攝也出現吊臂車協助燈光工作。
由於拍攝於入夜後已開始進行，故此有著不少途人圍觀看看情況。
該晚其中一場拍攝，包括了張學友飾演的石堅與導演曾志偉飾演的哈公的對手戲。
與此同時，該晚亦有女主角袁詠儀的戲份。
《72家租客》雖然仍在拍攝當中，不過其官方網站已經開通，當看到某壽司連鎖店贊助時，不知會否硬去加入大量該壽司連鎖店的元素以達品牌效應。
再看看故事大綱，可以說是十分詳細兼中英並重，不過，當中「大業主」角色，卻只括著是「內地演員」，到底是否至今仍在找內地演員去演而未有公佈，還是想作合拍片於內地上映呢？與此同時，西洋菜街鏹水狂徒也加在劇情之時，也許大家可對電影的期望有著適當的調整了。
好了，到底導演組合是誰呢？
細心看看該晚拍攝用的拍板，攝影的崗位有著張東亮的名字。至於導演，則是三人組合。除了較早前公佈的曾志偉和葉念琛外，還有誰呢？
答案出現了，便是《電影鴨》、《9個女仔1隻鬼》及《七擒七縱七色狼》等電影的導演鍾澍佳。
《72家租客》以《七十二家房客》為藍本，有曾執導《四個32A和一個香蕉少年》的曾志偉、《保持愛你》的葉念琛及《七擒七縱七色狼》的鍾澍佳執導，加上無線藝人傾盡演出，大家會預期這部賀歲電影會拍出甚麼款式來呢？

新浪娱乐讯 昨日，《72家租客》的电影发行方新华展望传媒负责人何志凯正式对外公布该片将在2月11日正式上映，这也意味着这部电影成为了春节档期近10部电影的头炮电影，发行方表示，正是对这部电影充满信心，所以提前开始了春节档期的贺岁之战。
记者获悉，在春节档期可谓是今年恶战的一年，因为大年初一和情节人的重合，有近10部影片抢占贺岁档，对于这个不可避免的恶战，《72家租客》发行方负责人表示无论从演员阵容，还是从喜剧的故事性，都是很有信心成为春节档期的领头羊。
